At The Lady May, pickled okra isn’t an afterthought—it’s a staple. Growing up in the South, jars of pickled okra were always on the table. When we opened our restaurant, we searched for that same nostalgic flavor but couldn’t find one that struck the perfect balance.

So we created our own.

Using fresh whole okra pods and a signature brine of vinegar, mustard seed, garlic, sliced jalapeños, and red pepper, we developed a recipe that blends sweetness with gentle heat—honoring both sweet and spicy Southern traditions in one jar.
